Well here it is the end of May and we are still in California -- turned out my "routine" visits to various doctors uncovered some surprizes -- I now have two new hearing aids, to go with my man-made knees. I also have 20/20 vision in one eye thanks to a catarac operation. Left eye will be cleaned up in late June. Next week Jann and I are off to London, Paris and NYC -- talk about a tough retirement! Hello all -- here is a quickie --- we stayed overnight in Laughlin, NV and Ruby Foo had a fit -- every morning and evening we were treated to a feeding frenzy by over 75 swallows. Apparently the gnats or no-seeums are out in force at these times. Anyway, as the swallows were feeding and diving, the Foo was on the dash board trying to get at them. It really was hilarious to see poor Foo trying to join the birds.

We will be in S. CA for almost the entire month of May, taking care of business and seeing eye, ear and various other Doctors. Stay tuned.

Hello All -- I am not sure what we did between Oklahoma City and Cedar City Utah where we are now headquartered, but I do know that Utah has turned out to have some of the most majestic scenery on the planet. We visited Bryce Canyon yesterday and I am still in visula over-load --Take a look.

Oklahoma City! Who knew? What a delightful town. Very freindly people and good eating -- our newest find is the Wing Stop -- be sure to try the lemon pepper wings. To our friends in California, there is a Wing Stop on Newport Coast Blvd near 17th street. Also in OK City you will find one of the most moving and beautifull memorials located on the site of the Federal building bombing in 1995. Here are some pictures of the memorial along with the state capital.

Austin Texas turned out to be a favorite city in the lone star state. You may have guessed that we tend to judge a city by the quality and variety of its food. Well, Eddie V's at happy hour turned out to be a real find. Oysters in the half shell for 35 cents each -- kept us coming back for more. Here are a few shots of Austin including the state capital. Oh, while in Austin do not miss the nightly flight of the bats -- millions of bats fly out from underneath an overpass for a night of feeding on insects. Makes you wonder what Texas would be like without these nightly mosquito eliminators.

Hello all, here are some more shots from San Antonio. Those avacodoes end up as the best Guacamole you will ever eat -- direct from Boudro's on the river walk. Do NOT visit San Antonio unless you include at least one meal at Boudro's. Here's a travel tip -- don't wait in line to see the inside of the Alamo, as these people did. Go 'round the back and walk in -- not much inside anyway. Next posting will be from Austin.

Greeting to all -- well we gave Corpus Christi a good run for the money, but I still say save your dollars and skip it. Here is a good shot of downtown and some detail shots of our favorite cultural hang out, the Porch Bar. On the good side, we went for a gambling cruise and Jann wore Robert Brocke's lucky yellow hat and it if big in three card poker. Jann rules at three card poker. Harold, I met several folks who remember you from WW 2 days. One of the ladies said she was still waiting for the support check. Next stop Galveston. Stay tuned.

We are currently over-nighting in Las Cruces NM then we are crossing the border to TX on our way to Corpus Christi. I don't expect we will have too much to report between here and Corpus Christi -- flat, flat TX.

Hello all -- we are currently in cold, cold Santa Fe, a beautiful place any time of the year. We found out what happens when you run out of LP Gas in the old weather -- surprise, you freeze your ass off! We had a lot of fun getting our propane tank filled. Life on the road is a continuing adventure. Here are a Few shots of Sedona, probably one of the most beautiful spots on the planet. If you have not visited Sedona, put it high on your list of places to see.

Hello all -- it is catch-up time. We are currently camped out in Santa Fe for the next ten days. We will then head south in search of warmer weather. We are a little late in posting news. Busy week in Las Vegas and now in Lake Havasu AZ. Here is a picture of two visitors who showed up at our house in Newport Dunes. More later. Stay tuned.

Fairwell Party

We held an open house on Friday the 13th. Several folk -- Jody, BJ and Steve S. -- from Newport came to view the new home and bid us goodby. Ex-next door neighbors, Nichole and Croky came by as well as old friend Rick Demusey. Dave Sahr our real estate agent that made the entire adventure possible by selling us the Marilyn property and the selling it again 11 years later at a more than reasonable profit. Robert Brock, Chris and Ann were also in attendance. Krista and Tim rounded out the guest list.

Now on to Palm Springs to visit wtih Lance and Patrick, lunch with Doug and Hilda and then off to Las Vegas for HDAW.
